Small Black Spider Kebari

I use this as a go-to fly when nothing else is working and I’m in danger of being skunked. Normally I fish with size #12 flies but I carry this one in sizes #16 and even #20. This unweighted wet fly imitates nothing in particular but represents everything from a black gnat to a small stonefly nymph. It is tied with the softest Indian saddle hackle, which will pulse enticingly in the current. On those days when the fish are hesitant and not responding to my usual kebaries, this little unassuming fly sometimes provides excellent results.
